New ideas from godbolt testing.
https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjobs/w7h9b4biyhxlte9d/artifacts/src%2Flibretro%2Fstella_libretro.dll (_launcherres)
If all fail, someone please upload stella_debug.txt contents. Blind without this crash log. Thanks.
I’m away from my Windows machine until Monday, but if no one has tested by then, I’ll get on it.
Thanks again.
Volunteer from another board is feeding logs. No updates.
I think compiler is broken. But worth few more tries.
Finally a working build! Sound effects in Boxing (only game I tested) are broken though. Can anyone try this game and reproduce this? It should have sounds for blocking, hitting, K.O etc., the only sample is a muffled tone, like there was only the blocking sound effect in the game.
So, for the uninitiated, would exactly do I need to do to get 1.7.7 to not crash in Windows?
Never mind, I worked it out So, will this amended dll be replaced with the original broken one if I perform a core update?
Yes, until we get the buildbot to build with funbars’ changes.
@funbars oh man, you got it figured out?? what ended up being the problem?
flto crash. Submitted pr.
Boxing = see what devs say. Don’t have problem.
Boxing runs (and sounds) fine on my system (RA 1.7.7 stable, x86_64, Win10).
File: Boxing (USA).a26 CRC-32: 9ece0021
Thanks for checking, so it’s happening on my end only, will check what could cause that.
I tested with the last one, it says Stella 6.1_beta2 dd811490
Tested and worked really well with the following games:
And finally a non-Activision one: Halloween, it renders the classical musical theme from the movie perfectly fine.
Awesome work. Many thanks to all involved.
I’m sorry if I disappeared from testing, but I was involved with work meeting a deadline for a client, so I was not help testing for a while.
Just for curiousity, what are the new improvements in this core?
More mappers. Runs arm-chip games. Like:
Stay Frosty 2
2018 homebrew winner
Plus Accurate sound engine. Lots of tiny graphic engine fixes. Robust auto-detection.
Atari 2600 homebrew scene is exploding and lots great stuff to try.
Is there analog support in the new Stella core? Some games like Circus Atari & G.I Joe really need analog support to be playable.
Devs told me to wait on analog paddles, and won’t accept wip commits.
Ok no biggie. I can set normal Stella in rlauncher for the analog games. I’m grateful the core has finally been updated lol.
Works now for Me.
Thanks for Fixing the Crash
