Video driver: gl vs. d3d

Hello.

Is there a general consensus on d3d performing worse than gl regarding RA’s input lag? Do (should) both drivers benefit from the latest improvements in this matter?

I’m asking because, in order to solve RA’s issue when switching from interlace to progressive resolution for 15kHz monitors and CRT usage (as noted here) without resorting old RA versions, changing to d3d will do it with no issues whatsoever, however I’m under the impression that the input lag is much worse than it should (tested so far with Genesis Plus GX core).

Sorry for bumping this. Definitely, d3d performs much worse than gl, input lag-wise (CRT display, Win7 tests). Is it known why video mode switching only works on d3d (unlike old RA versions) and is there any hope that we can get it working on Open gl too anytime soon? For 15-kHz monitors, it’s really annoying having to set the desktop at a very low res. before booting RA, I’m sure I’m not alone.

Just a suggestion (don’t know who exactly direct my petition at). Thanks.
