Vulkan crashing when thumbnails are present

So this is going to sound weird but whenever I use thumbnails (from the RA repository) I crash the moment I try to load a game through the playlist when using Vulkan. This only applies to games that have a thumbnail associated with them. So for example, if i delete every NES thumbnail, minus Castlevania, every other game will run fine except castlevania.

Turning off thumbnails through the menu stops it from happening. The only core that does not crash is Mednafen PSX HW.

Have you tested Parallel with vulkan renderer as well? I was having a similar problem, but could not identify a pattern. (old Parallel and Mednafen HW were the only cores loading games, the rest was crashing)

Will test it again here.

Windows 10 x64 GeForce GTX 660TI Driver 378.66 (was happening with an older version as well)

Parallel loads fine from what i tested, although it had some graphical problems. I only did a quick test of all the cores I am currently running and they seem to work fine.

Nestopia, BNES, Genesis Plus GX, Parallel, Mednafen Saturn, Mednafen PSX HW, Gambatte, mGBA.

I had the exact same problem as you in the past. Any game I would load crashed. I only just got it working today and I believe the thumbnails were the cause (strange, huh?) Have you tried running the games outside a playlist? Like through the load content option.

Nothing weird on the logs.

They also don’t crash when running from History. As soon as I quit and try to load from a playlist with thumbnails, crash.

Looks like we are having the same problem. Really strange. Switching the thumbnails to something other than Boxart also causes a crash as well.

Hello. I have the same problem. Deactivating thumbnails or switching to D3D/OpenGL solves it.

If that can help, I’m on Windows 10 x64 and I am using an Intel CPU and an AMD GPU.
