WebOS Retroarch has an issue with save file names

Hi guys. I wanted to open this thread because i really enjoy having retroarch inside my tv and would love for this to work excellently.

The issue is this. Every emulator saves itself as the corename as reference. This happens with every game so when you play and save a game that use the same core, they will overwrite each other.

Are the developers aware of this and can this be fixed?

RETROARCH just got updated to 1.12 and some cores have been added. The saturn emulator yabause i found is the only emulator without this problem.

Rephrase…:

There is one issue i have found all platforms i use have EXCEPT for Yabause for the SEGA saturn

Save files are saved using core name for each game, so playing 2 different games on the same core will overwrite each other. Same goes for savestates. Only Yabause, sega saturn’s core, saves every game accroding to rom name. Is there a way to fix this? Please let me know if you read this. I wish i had experience so i could do it myself. I cant for the life of me find why Yabause does this correctly but all the other cores dont.

I have WEBOS retroarch with USB support added so i run all my games through a USB connected.

Thank you very much

so, when you use, for example, snes9x, every save is snes9x.srm??

If so, that’s certainly not intentional, and I’m not sure how such a thing could happen.

Yes exactly. The only core i found so far which saves all files by rom name is yabause the sega saturn emulator.

Do you have a webos tv and are you able to test it out?

I’m afraid I don’t :frowning:

I think most of the webOS work was done on/for one of those old webOS phones.

Do you know if the person, or people, who are doing the webos retroarch project are here on the forum?

I think its this guy:

But i cant contact him. I wrote a comment in one of his update notes. Not sure if he is going to read it.

Posted it in the support forum of discord. Hopefully they will read it!
