Weird interaction between my 8-Bitdo and Xbox 360 Controllers

The Setup:

[ul] [li]Windows 7 64-bit[/li][li]Retroarch 1.3.0[/li][li]2x 8-Bitdo SNES30 controllers[/li][li]2x Xbox 360 Wireless controllers[/li][/ul]

The Problem:

In order to use the 8-Bitdo controllers on my PC, I have to start them up in “Joystick mode” using Start+R. However, Retroarch will not detect the controllers except for one condition, if my 360 controllers are on. So if I want to play a 2-player game, both 360 controllers must be on in order to use both SNES30 controllers. If the 360 controllers turn off automatically, then detection is lost until I turn them back on.

I tested this outside of Retroarch with multiple emualtors, and the SNES30’s worked without keeping the 360 controllers on.

Anyone know why my “Joystick mode” is emulating through the 360 controllers?
