What are you playing now?

@SkyHighGam3r Indeed the game is hard, frustrating and unfair…but also I don’t know why it’s very fun. I’ve beaten it but only took the shortcut of creating save states from the beginning of every stage…and I perceived and beaten it. So don’t give up you’ll do it!

Back to the topic, I’m playing some Mario RPG these days…as a PAL gamer we never got it, among a ton of other RPGs, but it’s great! It has that good ol’ Square feeling from the day, it warms my heart!

There also a abundance of Japanese to English translated roms. I do like Magical Pop’n from SNES. I think I will make a separate topic of for hidden gems or maybe something else. We have Easy RPG for rpg maker 2000/2003 but I really want to see WOLF RPG games emulated on RA as well.

I remember hearing they hired a model or a porn actor to do the voices for the character.

Im trying to get my sega saturn and my neo geo to automatically add to retroarch. For some reason i cant get these 2 consoles working. Besides that i have been playing pc engine.

Any help ?

For Neo Geo it could be that you don’t have the bios neogeo.zip. If you do place it as it is in it’s zipped form in the same folder as your neo geo rom folder. I do see that some rom sets for Neo Geo AES have their own bios files included to the rom zip file. There’s also Uni-Bios (uni-bios_4.0.rom) for neo geo. For AES roms you can change the versions from arcade to console, console has extra perks to them.

Reddit Forum /roms has info on rom sets as I believe we can not link rom places in the forum.

As a game recommendation give the Metal Slug series a try. Start the the easiest Metal Slug 2 (mslug2)

Which core are you using for saturn/neo-geo?
Do you have the right bios files for them?
In which format do you have your saturn/neo-geo roms?

The Arcade version is very good also, but the Speccy port has seemingly stood the test of time, and has a bizarre charm that rises above most other maze clones from the same era, it’s a retro masterpiece IMHO.

I was playing an old Brazilian hacked version of a Monster Boy game called Turma da Mônica na Terra dos Monstros, for the Genesis/Mega Drive. That was what motivated me to finally download RetroArch, actually - I was annoyed with the other emulators and wanted to check out Genesis Plus GX.

The one wrinkle is that I tried to soft patch an improved translation patch I found on romhacking.net onto it, but it makes it not load. Not sure if it’s because I have RetroAchievements enabled or something else.

I’m hooked to Mario’s Picross (SNES/GameBoy). What an amazing and addictive puzzle game. I totally missed that in the past when I got those consoles.

Was just playing MK2, got pretty much dragged in to the retro achievements, so I started unlocking them all.

I also played Castle of illusion. Unlocked every achievement except for hard game mode :D.
