What does 'allow accuracy impacting settings' (bsnes) mean?

Just wondering what this option means in the bsnes (mercury) core? Does it need to be on in order for the other two settings (chip HLE and SuperFX overclock) to take effect?

yep, that’s exactly right. Alcaro wanted people to be sure of what they were doing before enabling them.

Update your core, the setting is now “Allow settings to reduce accuracy”, easier to understand? I was confused before heh

Okay, I swear that the SuperFX overclock setting does nothing. I’ve tried Star Fox at 1000% with these settings, and it isn’t any smoother at all.

Are we sure these options are actually hooked up in the core?

bsnes_chip_hle = “HLE” bsnes_superfx_overclock = “1000%” bsnes_violate_accuracy = “enabled”

does it work for you with snes9x2010? Does the special chip HLE work for you? One way to test should be to try mega man x 2 or 3 with the performance profile.

Finally got around to testing Snes2010 and yes - that has a dramatic effect on the speed / smoothness of Star Fox when overclocking the SuperFX chip.

It appears that the bsnes options aren’t actually hooked up / active.

Should I create a Github issue?
