I have the files, I’m pretty sure they’re correct with the right MD5 and it’s say I have them, but some of them are showing an (!) which makes me think they’re not 100% correct?? It doesn’t show on all of them either.
It’ll say “present” if it’s found and “missing” if it’s not. The exclamation point just calls attention to it.
So, there’s an exclamation mark even if it’s present and correct?
Correct. It’ll say whether it’s present or missing and whether it’s optional or required, and if it doesn’t have those bits, it’s typically just calling out the checksum or other general notes:
As you can see in this pic, the checks say present/missing and the lines that don’t are just the checksums to better identify the ones it’s looking for.
I feel it would be more clear if those (!)
prefixes would be only with those checksum rows. And since they come straight from the info files, it would be easy to remove from the present/missing rows.
For example:
I wonder if it would be too much effort to get actual checkmark/nope icons with present/missing…
Or the cheap way:
I’m not sure the exclamation points are really that helpful at the checksum lines, either. Seems to me that it would make more sense to add the checksums to the firmware lines so it appeared underneath the firmware present/missing lines…
The X/+ looks good to me, though.
I believe (!) also indicates that it requires extra user configuration.
Something that would be very useful is to do the checksum check automatically. and if it fails to say check failure or something like that.
PS. Sega CD bios are not optional, if you don’t have them, the game won’t load.
It’s optional for the core itself, just not for Sega CD games.
