What is "Add Content > Scan Directory" for?

Hi all,

I’ve set up my directory of content, and set the directory setting “File Browser Dir” to point at it.

What then is “Add Content > Scan Directory” for? Is it to scan that directory? If so, why?

That’s how you can scan a directory for ROMs that match out databases (derived from No-Intro DATs) for things like boxart and thumbnails. These features aren’t fully fleshed out yet, so you may not want to fool with it.

It’s also more useful in the XMB menu vs the default menu because it makes the games show up in the horizontal menu instead of having to navigate your directory structure.
