What is the difference between the standalone versions of RetroArch?

Here I can download either a regular and a Qt version of RetroArch. Is there any real difference between them? I couldn’t find anything about that. Maybe it’s placebo, but Qt seemed to run games slightly slower, but I dunno.

it has to do with whether the Qt-based desktop menu is compiled in. I believe if there’s a significant mismatch between the Qt version it uses and the one installed in the user’s system, it will cause a crash, hence the separate bundles.

Qt version shouldn’t run any slower, but stranger things have happened.
