Hello. Thanks for reading my topic. Any prevision the date of Retroarch next release ? In next weeks ? Ony for information and not for demanding release soon because I not want lose time downloading and configuring current 1.21 if the next version will be release in few days. Have an nice week.
We’re planning to do it soon, but there’s no ETA.
You could always download a nightly build instead.

I don’t know on what operating system you plan on using RetroArch. But on PC at least it is easy to take over your old configuration and use it with the new RetroArch. The procedure depends on how you install it. And in best case you don’t even need to do anything, as the new RetroArch version would access your older configuration.

Having used RetroArch among different platforms, that’s basically the rule: just replace the old executable with the new one. If any issue arises, then it’s most likely a conflicting configuration file, which should be removed to be recreated cleanly.

@thingsiplay You are correct. but need update the assets and others files too.
@md2mcb Only replacing the executable not is the correct way to update.

If you use the internal updater of RetroArch, then you can just update it like you would with the cores and other files. But it requires the Online Updater of RetroArch being functional.

@thingsiplay Really using internal updater is an good option. If you download manually the retroach update you can replace the files at any moment.
