Why do CPS2 games don't recognize all buttons?

I’m having issues with the CPS2 games. No matter what button configuration I use, no matter what controller I choose, the only seem to recognize 3 buttons. Only buttons A, B and R work; everything else are like googles: they do nothing.

Yes. You also failed to tell us what version are you using and what core

My version of RetroArch is 0.9.7.1 and the CPS2 core version is 0.2.97.26

See, that’s over a year old by now. At this point I could only say… I dunno. Try the latest stable on buildbot/stable or wait for 1.1
