Why is Yabause core so much slower than standalone Yabause emulator?

Yabause

Retroarch

I’m using software renderer on the emulator and as you can see my PC is capable of running it at near constant 60fps with various games (Nights, Panzer Dragon Zwei, PD Saga). However when I try using it through Retroarch it runs at an abysmal speed, completely unplayable. Is this normal behaviour or am I missing something on the retroarch settings?

We don’t have the dynarec

Planning on adding it in the future or will it stay like this forever?

It’ll take some major effort because the current dynarec isn’t PIC-compatible, which is necessary for running it as a dynamic library, but it’s on the to-do list. Twinaphex said recently that he’s wanting to spend some time working on that and maybe getting the accelerated renderer added, as well. So, it’ll probably happen at some point but don’t expect it any time very soon.

Ah man… No wonder it was running so slow.

So, i want to buy a mini machine with a quad core @2.56Ghz and my main goal with it is to be able to play saturn bomberman, would it work with current yabause-libretro ? Seems to me like there was tons of fixes but none about dynarec, am i wrong ?

Still no dynarec as of today
