Wii & Saturn emulation: i5 NUC vs Ryzen 2400g

I’m planing on to build a dedicated emulation pc for my living room.

My goal would be to run 2D Sega Saturn emulation in native resolution as well as Nintendo GameCube and Wii at 720 or 1080p.

Would an i5 Intel Nuc with Iris 640GPU or a Ryzen 2400g be a good basis for such a machine?

You should check out ETA Primes youtube channel he has been testing emulation with the Ryzen stuff recently

For Saturn, both will work fine. Mednafen Saturn even runs on the Pentium G4560, which is a 2 cores/4 threads (2c4t) CPU, with a much weaker igp

But for Dolphin, I imagine the Ryzen IGP will offer more performance to upscale the games (I believe games will run fine on standalone Dolphin with the Iris640, but may not upscale well without a performance hit @ Retroarch).

Another thing to consider is that the Ryzen is a 4c8t CPU, while the I5 in NUCs are 2c4t. If the pricing is similar, I would go with a Ryzen build
