Win64 and Android Test Builds

@Hyllian Welcome back :smiley:

That error can apparently come up when trying to run 64-bit programs on a 32-bit OS. Is your version of Windows 32-bit, by chance?

Hi Hunterk!

It’s Win 8.1 single version. It says it’s 64 bits and have processor x64 at the Computer Info page. I’m assuming it’s 64 bits then. I have installed Vim for 64 bit OS and it’s working perfectly.

Win64: Updated: RetroArch, Common Shaders, Mednafen, Mupen64plus, ScummVM Added: 3D Engine, Meteor default core info path to default config

NOTE: For best results with Android port, be sure to uninstall previous version before installing newer versions.

@All, is there still a need for the MAME2013-0.151 core?

@Squarepusher , I’m still having issues with the latest Direct3D driver, crashes when toggling to full screen and crashes when trying to load a rom.

@Hyllian, you need to install DiectX not just dl and coy one of the dlls: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download … aspx?id=35

Also, if you can both ā€œC:\Program Filesā€ & ā€œC:\Program Files (x86)ā€ then yes you are running a 64 bit version of Windows but if you only have ā€œC:\Program Filesā€ then it’s 32 bit.

@AndresSM, I tried to compile PCSX-ReARMed for windows but I ran into several problems, I tried to fix what I can but some of the needed fixes are above my coding skills. Sorry but you are going to have to wait for one of the devs to be able to fix it so it can compile for windows.

I also forgot about the overlays, I will add them to my next Android build.

@Rick74 , I did it like all the others from with RGUI nothing special, just make sure you are using one of the latest releases.

The OS already came with Dx11 installed. Should I really try to install Dx9?

Yes, I have both folders.

I don’t think so, didn’t find any bug with 152 yet.

DX10, DX11 is not backward compatible. So yes, you’ll need.

Thank you for fixing Majoras Mask 1280x960@glied64. At the moment it works for me

Thanks, it worked! \O/

Is other cores like MAME078 available for win64? Is there any advantage in using MAME078 over MAME0152 for win64? (I ask because I have mame078 romset I got for PS3 RE usage).

@Hyllian MAME 078 will be much faster, but if you can get full speed with a never version, you’re better off using it instead.

hi hyllian, nice to see you around again. well mame v0.78 is regarded to be the most performant version. input lag should also be lower by a few frames on some games. the downside is of course that it doesn’t support so many games like v0.152 and since names and rom structures differs with every version of mame you need to keep a specific romset for v0.78.

edit: 2late, hunterk was faster

Thanks hunterk and Sp00kyfox.

Where can I get MAME078 core? The one that comes with lates win64 build is for 0.152 only.

I don’t know if there are any newer builds floating around, but here’s one I made a few months ago: http://www.mediafire.com/download/921k8 … 131001.zip

It looks like most of the changes since then have been for consoles, so it should still be okay

Thanks, hunterk.

For some reason, RE 32 bits runs much better than 64bit. Twice faster here.

Sorry guys I’ve been having some major health issues again keeping me away from the computer.

I did manage to finally upgrade my Android toolchain to NDK-9c, in which I recompiled everything for that, though the 3 MAME cores & Mupen would not run so I had to revert my compiles scripts for those cores back to my previously working toolchains for each.

Thanks and take care.

Thanks for everything. What you do is greatly appreciated.

Thanx guys, I’m still having more of my health issues off and on but things seem to maybe finally calming down (I hope I don’t jinx myself  ).

Anyways, I ran into issues trying to compile the latest MAME for Android but I’ll see what I can do later.
