Win64 and Android Test Builds

RetroArch-2014-03-22

Win64: RetroArch, Common-Shaders, UME2014

NOTE: MESS & UME support is still preliminary so expect bugs. With this update UME can now launch games and you can change media types within CORE OPTIONS the same as MESS now, but you have to launch the same media type as what your last one was before being able to change media types, eg. If you launch a cartridge based game and close out RA then decide to play an arcade based rom, you would have to launch another cartridge based game, then you can go back into RGUI and then go into CORE OPTIONS and change MESS media type to rom and finally select your rom.

Command line support for use with frontends is still being worked on.

These current releases of MESS & UME are for testing purposed right now.

Mednafen WonderSwan Color sounds very glitchy. On latest WinX64 build… Granted, I haven’t tried it in a while, but I don’t remember it behaving so badly… Can anyone else confirm?

Mednafen WonderSwan Color has to run at 75Hz (75fps) to run at fullspeed, so if for some reason you are enforcing Vsync at 60Hz or so - it would most likely be reflected in very bad skippy audio.

That’s probably it then…I have ‘vsync always on’ on my graphics card… Thanks

Win64: RetroArch[3012284], MAME/MESS/UME(2014)[5ec75d2], Mupen64plus[4e42eb9]

NOTE: Major updates to MAME/MESS/UME

Android updates will come later.

Android: Updated: RetroArch[a3f6904], Mednafen[4a5f6e7], Mupen64plus[4e42eb9]

NOTE: For best results with Android port, be sure to uninstall previous version before installing newer versions.

There are still issues with compiling the latest code from MAME SVN for Android, so until there is a fix then Android will be stuck at 0.152. Also, even though I could compile cores for MESS/UME with version 0.152, they would crash when trying to load a game. This was with using the softlist & games that would work on my PC.

Win64: Updated: MAME/MESS/UME2014[a8a6531]

Notes: MAME/MESS/UME: updated to MAME-SVN r29054, softlist & softlist automedia working again in MAME & UME, commandline support for UME

To get commanline support to work you have to do it like the following example’s syntax: retroarch.exe -L cores\ume_libretro.dll " jaguar -cart “roms\jaguar\Atari 4 Life!!.zip” -rp roms\BIOS"

As always, thanks x1,000,000

All thnx goes to AndresSM & R-Type, they did all the real work; I just test, try to spot bugs & compile for public consumption.

Well thanks to them too

Any way to disable MAME nag screen? Patch in core options doesn’t seem to work for me?

The nag screen patch was removed when going from 0.152 to the nightly SVN builds, but I could put it back in my builds if the devs are fine with that, or if they put it back in themselves.

Cool, thanks for the swift reply

Did something change with MAME between the 3-22 build and the 3-26/3-29 builds?

Neo Geo and PGM games seem to have sound and performance issues starting on 3-26…others I’ve tried seemed I unaffected. (SFA 3, Crystal of Kings)

They are fine in 3-22 build

Thanks!

Yes, the MAME source code went from the 0.152 release branch to the nightly SVN branch. Now that the ability to use softlist & commandline support is now working in the SVN branch, I am about to have both sets of MAME/MESS/UME available in my builds. This was p33pz can still use the more stable release while also having the ability to play around with the nightly SVN builds as they have both improvements, bugs and this just broken…

Win64: Updated: RetroArch[b6484f8], Common-Shaders[4b298b4], MAME/MESS/UME2014[b352f10], Mednafen[8b03f75], UME-SVN2014[272bc21]

UME-SVN2014: based on MAME-SVN r29096

MAME2014, MESS2014 & UME2014 are all again based on MAME 0.152 release code UME-SVN2014 is based on MAME’s SVN branch which is updated many times a day. With the SVN branch expect improments, bugs and things to get broken on each build. This is to give you a chance to try out the latest code from MAME/MESS. For those who don’t know, UME is MAME (arcade) & MESS (console & computers) merged into one core.

I also added the nagscreen patch back in for all MAME/MESS/UME/SVN builds.

Stella seems broken…just a black screen… Any ideas?
