Win64 and Android Test Builds

Some stuff I compiled today for windows, let’s share it while Lordashram is away.

Mednafen pce_fast: with the new overscan settings in core options, ratio of 6/5 (you can force 4/3 in retroarch video option if you don’t like that).

Mess SVN: noticed some improvement for Sharp X68K, some layers ordering and transparencies working. MSX1 & 2 seem to be bugged atm, some changes are still in progress it seems. Rename it to Mess_SVN if you don’t want to overwrite the latest Mess 0.143.

Could you start doing a MESS core for Android too?

Somebody requested it and it might be a first to appear on Android.

Thanks to Squarepusher’s support! =D I’m request the MESS for Android for a long time :wink: . Compared with MAME nearly everywhere, MESS only appeared in Win/Mac/linux. But MESS does have many exclusive emulators. Unfortunately, the official team clearly no plans port MESS to Android.

Because of excellent cross platform engine,RetroArch is the only android VB/MD32X/PCFX emulator.And it seems RetroArch would be the only chance to make a MESS Android port (at least for now.)… So please please take it a try! Regardless of success or failure,It’s AWESOME!!

MAME 2014-SVN & MESS 2014-SVN: based on MAME-SVN r30839

Sadly I have been unsuccessful compilng MAME/MESS/UME since 0.153 came out and I’ve tried every time there is a new update but it always errors out no matter what I do.

@all, Mupen is crashing on me on the Andriod port when loading a game & Mednefen PCE-Fast just black screens while loading a game on the Android port. ATM, my phone is down so I was trying on my son’s Note 2, it could be his phone or it could be RA.

WWhen i try to load Megadrive/Genesis or SEGA CD Games via Genesis Plus GX, Retroarch crashes for me with this new verison. Mastersystem games are working fine though via Genesis Plus GX.

Sega CD is working fine for me here with Gen Plus GX…

Are you using bin/cue images? do you have the correct BIOS?

yes, everything works like charm with the last test version 2014-05-01 On my ouya. didnt change any paths or something.

MAME 2014-SVN & MESS 2014-SVN: based on MAME-SVN r30854

It looks like it wasn’t just me having issues with the Android port, I tried Gensplus GX on my wife’s phone at it was also crashing while trying to load a game but my previous build didn’t have any issues. This new one resolves that (thanks to the devs quick update), I was able to load Genesis, Megadrive, SEGA CD, N64 and TurboGrfx16 games without issues. I went ahead and deleted both the Android & Win64 of the previous build.

thanks, the new version. it doesnt crash anymore on above mentioned cores, but the new version doesnt recognize the OUYA controller automaticlally anymore. it show Port 0: OUYA Game Controller but doesnt react to any input…

I’ll be adding a natural keyboard option, and maybe the debugger even though it’s not needed I just want to mess with it. After that I’ll try to work on inputs and maybe add the controller interface

They seem to work fine from my testing. Can you do a 0.153 build with all the libretro improvements? Git gives me a black screen in Puyo Puyo 2 :confused:

Android’s input routines are still being worked on.

@lordashram help me here, on my latest commit, everything works but on my builds I’m getting lots of “Error freeing memory meesages on mess” for some reason, can you build and test please?

I commented everything I did line by line but the error persisted…

hi sir, thank you very much for the mame 2014 core, it’s my favorites android emu, Could you please add a autofire function for it ? i think it’s very usefull for many old shooting games and acting games.

That’s not a feature of standalone MAME, this is a clean port of vanilla MAME, not shmupmame or MAME plus or anything. That said it could be useful, what MAME variant has the most useful features?
