Windows 10 issues

I’m not sure if there is something I’m not reading or if its something I’m not doing, but I’m running windows 10 and everytime i try to get a newer version of RA it won’t unpack correctly from the 7z file and it says that the program cannot be run on my system. I’m on my 3rd different unzipping program (7z opener, opener pro, and now WinOpener). Any tips?

Try a few things, uninstall 7-zip. Reinstall the 64-bit one. Install CCleaner, run the Cleaner and the Registry Fix.

Try to unzip from Command Prompt

"C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" e "C:\Path\To\RetroArch.7z" -o"C:\Path\RetroArch\Folder" -y

(Notice the -o is touching the quote ")

Try the Updater I recently made http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6726 (It only updates the exe)

ok… so this worked sorta. i found an unzipper that wasnt from the windows store and it worked. i have the main frame of 1.3.6 running and i used the Stellar updater to load the latest nightly. NOW… i updated all the cores and tried to load a few games on some different cores and i just get a black screen… NOOB LEVEL +9000

Download the redist 7z, unzip it to your folder. http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/windows/x86_64/redist-x86_64.7z Try installing some Visual C++ Runtimes 2013 | 2012 | 2010 (64-bit) | 2008 (64-bit) | 2005 (64-bit)

If you’re using a graphics card, update the drivers. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+10+-+64
