Windows 7 and Adaptoid for Mupen64plus

Has anyone been able to configure Mupen64plus under Windows 7 (64bit) via an Adaptoid controller to enable Rumble Pak use on a standard N64 controller? I’ve successfully set up the controller for game use, and enabled “Rumble” in Core options, but I can’t get it to activate in N64 supporting games. Yes: I’ve checked the batteries! Heh heh! Has anyone any experience with getting this working, or can give me a clue as to what to look at or where I may have gone wrong? I’d appreciate any help the members could give me with this. Cheers.

G.

I didn’t even know there was a 64-bit driver for the old Adaptoids. I’ve had great luck using the Mayflash 2-port USB adapter, though I don’t have any rumble paks.

It’s probably a dinput only device. It needs to work on xinput for rumble.

Thanks for the response so far guys. It is indeed using a dinput driver. I also have an option to select sdl, but that of course makes no difference. No option available for xinput. So am I right in assuming that this is a OS driver support issue? I guess I could try running and installing on a 32bit WinXP box that I have…

Can anyone else think of a possible solution that doesn’t involve 32bit Windows installs?

The adapter itself would need to support xinput or you’d have to find a wrapper that makes it look like an xinput device. The only wrappers I know of are for PS3 or PS4 controllers. There is also x360ce, which works with all kinds of dinput devices, but that doesn’t work with RetroArch.

Why xinput? RA supports HID right? Also the Bliss-Box does everything the Adaptoid does. http://bliss-box.net/adaptoid All done over HID. The API to access memory cards could be done using the existing Bliss-Box support already built in to RA (some coding required).
