Windows 8 USB controller not working

I’m using an snes controller hooked to the computer via a RetroUSB Retroport. I know the controller and port both work by testing them on another computer. In the GUI, the controller says “SNES” under controller, so it’s being detected. But no buttons will respond and when I try to manually config the buttons, nothing happens when I press the button at the prompt. The computer that I can’t get the controller to work with is running windows 8. Any advice?

Thanks!
