I think I fixed the problem just had to map the keys myself.
Once they’re mapped properly, you can save the autoconfig file and it will map them for you each time you launch. If you’re feeling generous, you can also submit it to our autoconfig repo on github and anyone else who uses one can benefit, as well 
You can just pattern a new file in /autoconfig/xinput for your Afterglow controller. Might need to change vendor_id, product_id to match your specific controller:
