Xbox 360 Left Analog Stick Issue

Hello,

I am using a wired Xbox 360 controller with RetroArch. All controls work perfectly fine except for the left analog stick when using cores that require it. I’ve never experienced this issue before, but the stick has a noticeable delay when moving in any direction and freezes to a kind of stuttering movement. I’ve calibrated the controller and confirmed that the issue is not occurring in other programs. It’s happening in both the mupen and parallel cores. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I deleted my config file and opened RetroArch with default settings. That seems to have fixed the issue. So it’s something I’ve messed up. I really don’t want to redo all my configurations if I can avoid it though.

Here’s a trick you can do to pin down which setting(s) cause the problem:

How to bisect your config: take a blank text file named retroarch.cfg, copy half of your old settings into it. Start RetroArch and try to reproduce the behavior. If the problem comes back, the bad setting was in that half, so try again with half of that half. If not, it was in the other half, so try that one instead. Rinse/repeat until you find the offending setting

That’s a great idea. Gonna try that. Thanks!

Thanks so much again. I was able to pin down the problem using your suggestion. Apparently I had messed around with the analog dead zone at some point.

Thanks again!
