Zelda: Majora's Mask

Best possible settings to run the game? Frame rate seems sporadic. Steady around 40-50 fps using gln64 and dynamic_recomplier then will clip below 15 when entering certain areas such as different parts of clock town. In comparison Ocarina of Time seems to run almost perfectly with a variety of settings.

Majora’s Mask can be quite intensive to emulate at certain parts. You could try to set the RSP to hle, lower the gfx accuracy and reducing rendering resolution. If all of this doesn’t work there isn’t much else you could do I think.

Guys I’ve noticed some audio crackling in Majora’s Mask.

Is the RSP setting responsible for the audio driver or am I backing up the wrong tree?

In the vast majority of cases, crackling is caused by framerate dips.

Right I guess it may be that then. Not that I noticed any framerate dips running on the ipad air. There was just some audio distorion just after the intro in MM just after you get turned into the shrub. There are some flames in the background and the crackling from them just seems a bit “off”

To quote Zeldapedia,

Unlike Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask requires the use of the Expansion Pak, allowing for a higher polygon count, resulting in improved graphics.

This means that Majoras Mask is more demanding and that much harder to run on a device that has a low cpu, such as the Iphone. I believe that Conker’s Bad Fur Day has utilized this expansion pack too, and so it also more demanding, but you know all about that.

Thanks mate, I wasn’t aware of the expansion pack thing. I may try knocking the graphical settings down a notch and see if it makes a difference.
