How do i switch the core inputs to use the full keyboard instead of keyboard bindings to joypad for the games that require full keyboards such as text based adventures?
The keyboard events from your hardware keyboard should trickle down to the virtual keyboard but you’ll run into the issue of triggering the default hotkeys whenever you hit the corresponding keys. The way most people deal with it is to assign a key/button to ‘hotkey enable,’ which makes RetroArch ignore keyboard events unless that key/button is held down.
