Marvel Super Heroes (Capcom - 1995)

I vectorized the control panel decal stickers again for this one, and I’ve shared them on the MameWorld forums. Many thanks as always to @mrdo for providing the rest of the artwork on this title.

I’ve provided both Z-Back and Dynamo (large marquee) style overlays for this one.

Darkstalkers (Capcom - 1995)

Updated this one to the Dynamo cabinet with control panel in place and packaged for MAME and RetroArch. I recreated the control panel decals in vectors again and those are available on the MameWorld forums.

Nice work on the cpo cleanup. Curious to see how it plays in my cab, as it’s 3screen wide? Ratio?

hi @briball thanks I really haven’t been able to play it, I’m waiting for the video card to arrive because it damaged and trying to get a 43 "4k monitor

Bubble Bobble (Taito - 1986)

This game was published by Romstar in NA while Taito released it themselves in JPN/EU. It’s not entirely clear which art was used for the EU release, but what I’ve presented for the overlay is faithful to the original art set used by Romstar in the US.

There was no bezel included with the game then, just the standard Romstar CPO, stickers and marquee. The bezels seen floating around are mostly custom aftermarket designs, or possible something used by Taito in the EU, but I haven’t been able to confirm that.

But, without any further ado, here is the Romstar based overlay:

EDIT: Updated to fix some issues with the CPO graphics:

Hey @ArsInvictus, I opened this one up and noticed the dynamo cabinet image is missing and the ZBack cabinet image is there instead, this is in the retroarch package, just wanted to let you know.

Fantastic work on all of these!

Last Duel: Inter Planet War 2012… 2012 seemed so far away I guess. Just updated this with new lighting, control panel and packaged for MAME and RetroArch.

I love the gameplay, it’s fun but you are right, it’s so hard! Someone near me here is offering an original cab for $600, I would buy it if I only had the space :frowning:

Progear (Capcom/Cave - 2001)

This adds the control panel view for Progear. I was able to recreate the stickers from photographs I found of someone selling the PCB. The coin door view is still included in the package as well.

Gemini Wing (Tecmo - 1987)

This is a CPO update to one of my personal favorites, in part because I spent a full weekend restoring this bezel and marquee. I also thought it was cool to see the bezel used by Josh of guscade.com in a recreation of this arcade cabinet, he’d been waiting 10 years for the restoration of this artwork (and now you can buy the real thing from him if you want):

Both CPO and coin door versions are in the packages:

Happy New Year gang! To welcome 2021 and help us pretend 2020 never existed (except for all these wonderful overlays), I’ve just launched a Vertical Arcade YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3csKwFr4hxRMHxoeSPQ68g

It’s primarily going to exist as a way of showing off the vertical overlays by our team, but will also include feature videos (the lead video right now is an explainer about what the hell a “MAME cabinet” is, for all your friends and relatives that don’t understand your obsession), tutorials, product reviews and lots more content. I will admit that a lot of it so far is aimed at introducing people to the hobby rather than at people who already know it well, but there will be plenty for everyone soon. Please check it out and subscribe, and let me know if there are particular things you’d like to see us cover.
