Don’t let this topic die, please.
Je suis d’accord avec vous
I do hope at some pont to get back into this. Just work and life and my virtual pinball machine(also arcade) is being updated.
I still find this project amazing. The only issue was actually getting an arcade cabinet to enjoy it with. I had a makeshift TV on its side and a big arcade stick, but it just didn’t have the appeal of an all-streamlined unit. I always check back to see if anybody’s produced anything. So far these are the available options. Also for some reason, whenever I see a video with a vertical arcade cabinet they were always using those low quality bezels that are floating around. This amazing project it does not get enough attention in this space, and I don’t understand why.
This company I think in Bulgaria makes a really nice 39-inch vertical arcade machine. https://victoryarcades.com/shop-1
Game room solutions also make some, but to me, it’s either too big or too small. They only offer a 50-inch version or a 32-inch version.
Since the Xtension cabinets are no longer available because the company is out of business that’s no longer available. I also have not been able to find anything else custom on Etsy or eBay. I went down the path of trying to get some CNC companies to cut some stuff for me, but that just proved to be a nightmare for some strange reason.
If anyone knows of anything else please let me know.
After a while away, I got way into CAVE shmups this evening. Such a blast. Thanks 4k vertical overlay devs!
Rec Room Masters are coming back apparently.
Hopefully the Xtension cabinets come back too.
That’s great news. Thank you for sharing. I wondered if they were ever coming back.
The standard of work here is beyond anything i’ve ever seen!! well done to everyone involved here!! Amazing!
I agree. I always wonder why these bezels are not incorporated into more of the prebuilt images floating around. This project really does not get the attention I strongly feel it deserves.
In my opinion, one of the problems is that there are not many options for purchasing a vertical arcade cabinet. It’s mostly build-it-yourself. There are a few options but I feel that they are subpar with strange design and size choices. I like to check back here often and see what’s happening because I’m always so impressed with the work this community has done.
Personally, something like this would be my ideal setup. With a 42 Inch Screen.
Yeah you need to end up with the emulated crt round about the correct size. I’m toying with the idea myself… thought I’d get away with 32” but I don’t think it’s gonna cut it unfortunately
