Yep, doing better every week! I’d love to see some more of those videos you were posting to YouTube again too

Yeah I’ve been slowly building back my motivation and interest for it. I recently got heavy into local AI LLM experimentation. Adding AI to NPCs for PC games and stuff. It’s been really fun! Learning some Python along the way has been interesting. That Youtube channel is getting slammed with request for more tutorials haha. I sorta opened up myself for it I guess SMH

I’m following LLM’s closely for my own work too, it is crazy how fast it’s evolving. I’m using a lot of AI for this stuff too now, the latest upscaling models from Topaz are insane, and the Photoshop gen AI feature is also incredibly helpful for filling in or extending areas to fit art into a particular format like these marquees.

Maybe just throw out one new video a week or so, too keep the channel lively but not too much of your time?

I’ll get back to regularly producing more overlays soon.

Mystic Riders 4k Vertical Overlay

Finally got around to finishing this one up. A lot of custom art for this one as it never had a worldwide release. I used ripped elements from the game title screen for the clouds on the marquee, hand vectorized the title logo and recomposed and colorized the original instruction card for the instruction strip here.

It’s available here in the horizontal subdirectory: Vertical Overlays MegaBezel Pack

Full print resolution materials are available here:

Here’s some bezels for Gradius II/Vulcan Venture:

Not sure if I will bother with a CPO for this or just release as a coin door overlay for now.

Amazing as always! I love the colors! This should have been an official Arcade bezel back in the day! Curious, I know Gradius was also called Nemesis, but I had no idea the sequel had a different name too. Why is Konami always confusing us?

I know, this game series had the most confusing titles I’ve seen. There was another game, totally different from this one released in Japan on the MSX also called Gradius 2, which was released in Europe as Nemesis 2. So they were all over the place, and two completely different games were called Gradius 2 :man_shrugging:

Feel free to use this bezel as always. Let me know if you want the higher res PNG files, etc.

Butasan/Pigs & Bombers 4K Vertical Overlay

One more overlay for this weekend. This one falls into the hidden gem category and is one of Jaleco’s better titles. This is another game that I don’t believe had a NA release, so I used the flyers to create this artwork:

I posted the custom marquee a while back and here is the accompanying bezel:

Nice job! I’ve never even heard of this game.

Same here, saw it on some random retrogaming stream and found out it’s a cult classic :man_shrugging:

Here’s a marquee for Xexex:

Will be getting around to an overlay for this soon, I hope

More Xexex stuff. A bezel based on a design motif from the original Japanese arcade topper and an instruction strip I cleaned up and translated from the Japanese:

Killer original art on those shooters… a lot of those in that time period should have had artwork as they were great games, but they were getting cheap on the cabinets by then. Looking at your marquees for these games, I can really imagine that this is something like the art would have looked like for these cabinets.

Thank you @Drybonz! I’m glad the effort I put into these is appreciated. I typically spend hours scouring the internet looking for the best quality sources for the original artwork, learning about the game, and trying to come up with something that is as respectful and authentic to the original game and original artists as possible. I enjoy the whole process as it’s creative and I feel it’s a kind of archeology, but I’m glad that folks out there enjoy the outcome too!
