You’re right, good catch. The original scan has the same moves label on both sides. I’ll fix it and reupload the file. Thanks.
Hi! I know I’m talking about an old post, but I wanted to know if there are some vertical consoles overlays out there, like the ones @ArsInvictus made for the Super Nintendo and few others. I know @Duimon work and it’s fantastic, but unfortunately is “only” horizontal.
I’d love to have all my collection and my frontend running vertical.
Thanks.
I’m only aware of the ones on the forums here, I’ve done a few and so did @briball. Are there some specific consoles you are looking for?
Here the @briball Google Drive for consoles and computers (PSD format).
Tks again to him
PS : @ArsInvictus, for exemple Amiga, Atari ST for computers… Some console overlays like CD32, gb, gbc, gba, N64, Wii, etc… missing a lot (for the most important i think)
Karate Champ 4K Vertical Overlay Update (Technos Japan / Data East 1984)
Here’s the updated Karate Champ file.

I also included a 2 Player alternating control panel version with only one set of joysticks and the single player instructions bezel.
Love the (One player only) alternate version!! Perfect for a “two player” (two sticks) cabinet.
I´m interested more in consoles than computers, so all the “classic” ones from Nintendo, SEGA, TurboGrafx, SuperGrafx, Vectrex, etc.(up to PS1). For me, handelds are not that important because they run mostly ports of some other games.
Kung-Fu Master 4K Vertical Overlay (Irem / Data East 1984)
Kung-Fu Master , also known as Spartan X in Japan, is a 1984 beat 'em up arcade game developed by Irem and distributed by Data East in North America. Designed by Takashi Nishiyama, it draws inspiration from Hong Kong martial arts films, particularly the Jackie Chan film Wheels on Meals and Bruce Lee’s Game of Death .
In the game, players control Thomas, a kung fu master, who fights through five levels of the Devil’s Temple to rescue his girlfriend Sylvia from the crime boss Mr. X. The gameplay involves fighting numerous enemies and engaging in one-on-one boss battles at the end of each level.
Kung-Fu Master was a commercial success, topping Japanese arcade charts and becoming America’s second highest-grossing arcade game of 1985.
Another one of my childhood favorites.

Looks fantastic, thanks for all your contributions!
Thanks I appreciate it. I’m glad I could give back to this wonderful community of talent.
I´ve been practicing Karate for 30 years. I love Kung-Fu Master. I´ve tried that crouched low sweep but it doesn´t seem to work in practice, a kick in my face is all I got…
Just an update to the Kung-Fu Master control panel. I added the left and right directional arrows that were missing.
The new zip includes the update and the original .png. The new version is the default view.

Nice!! Can you make a version without the black inner border (but keeping the artwork) for a MegaBezel version? Is that border part of the original cab?
Yes, the border is part of the bezel and has parts of the artwork on it (the dragon’s chin, and the fingers of the henchman). I trimmed it as close to the the artwork as I could.
A game I loved and played a lot was Vigilante on my Spectrum 128k, (though I spent a lot of time fawning over the arcade screenshots on the back of the box dreaming of owning that instead! ! Thanks to @ArsInvictus for his beautiful overlay bringing that dream to life! ) I only found out a few years ago it was actually a spiritual sequel to this! So obvious now I play it again - I’m sure there are a great many classics that owe a lot to this too - thanks for getting this one done!
@K-rnivoro @NeoKarnage, Just an idea, but I’d just mask out the edge of the ladders and heads, hands etc and put in a black stroke around the edge and give it a slight highlight from the screen? then you can maximise screen while preserving the art as-is?
I did a quick mock-up to show you what I mean:
I love it!!! Is that a mock-up or you just edited the overlay? Mabye not too “faithful”, but I guess is even better!!
Obviously, This is @NeoKarnage baby, and I’m not in the habit of taking over anyone’s work unsolicited! just had a moment to figure out a way while waiting on a render - I haven’t looked, but the bezel may well have worked like that on the original cab, feels like it might have?
It’s a mock up as far as I’m concerned but if @NeoKarnage is happy for me to polish that mask off and send it for the mega bezel then I’m happy to do so
How’s this?

@PapaShine absolutely has my blessing to modify the image.
I’m curious to see your solution.
