It’s called “Use Image for Placement” there are some examples in the Examples package which use this option, the Magic Sword example and the Orionsangel examples. Basically you turn on this option and set the image path for the image to use.

OK No joy for me to do any art work right now, but I have updated my Vertical Spread sheet, Now it’s only a work in progress but most of the Overlays and who made it should be in, but I could have missed some, (And not all links are there) If you can have a look and see what I missed of yours I can update, please PM or I think you can comment in the sheet.

And talking of links, I feel its easier if you also have a link to the main folder, than just individual files (thats ok for posting anew Overlay, but if you want to grab more than one it can get tedious to do it one by one as there are now a lot of overlays.

Is it possible to get versions of the artwork that are not as dark? I enjoy the artwork, but prefer it to be brighter.

Hi @csargent2, welcome.

I understand the brighter question. We discussed this long time ago, but feel that having the bezel dark let’s the screen really pop. And most of us play indoors, in a dark room, so it makes the cab look like it’s naturally there. When doing these overlays there are so many options, opinions, it would drive us nuts trying to account for all. Cpo, no cpo, large format, full bezel, coindoor no coindoor. Reflections, black light versions, bla bla. Some do, some don’t. I wish we could do them all.

Now you can take our images and Photoshop/gimp the bezel part and change the exposure or levels to brighten that up, I am happy to see the results here or help if you need.

Hope you understand.

Thanks for the reply. I assume these files are created in Photoshop/Gimp, would any of the artists be willing to share their working files? I will try the exposure trick, its always worth learning a new skill.

I agree with keeping things dark. When you have a 4K TV that’s 32, 43, or even 50 inches right in your face. You definitely want parts of it dimmer. I think the current standard is perfect.

Personally, I am light-sensitive. Options for brightness can be adjusted on your television or display. I also think MAME has a brightness option. But I’m not sure how deep it is.

ArsInvictus shared some of his Photoshop files further up the thread. Those are excellent and would be worth checking out to learn from.
