Yeah, it’s a matter of priorities I guess. At 4k there is enough resolution to still give a nice approximation of the CRT look (and this is coming from someone who has an arcade with 6 original cabinets with CRT’s in his basement and a JVC D-Series CRT hooked up for console gaming) but the artwork does a lot to recreate the original arcade experience that is just really immersive. And I’ve not had one person come to my home, see the vertical arcade and comment about the subpixel emulation or mask orientation, but everyone seems to love the overall experience with the artwork in place.
On the 55 inch TV I’m using I measured the size of the space for the CRT and on a typical horizontal game I’ve still got the equivalent of a 27-inch screen, so the overall impression in terms of size is really analogous to an actual cabinet as well.
