Any plans for motion adaptive deinterlacing outside of LRPS2?

This thing is a game changer for interlaced content when progressive output hacks are not desireable. Will we ever see it in BeetleSaturn or BeetlePSX SW? Is it doable as a shader?

I’m probably not the most informed person on these things, but it seems like Med Saturn is dead (even though I think it’s the best Saturn emulator available). I haven’t seen any new features or changes in a long time and it’s still missing more basic things like 2x upscaling, etc… I would love to see some of these fancy features, but it doesn’t look hopeful to me.

I know guest’s shader does an amazing job with deinterlacing, so at least something good can be done global-wise with a shader. It would be pretty interesting having a specific one for deinterlacing purposes. There’s a couple of them already, but very old and limited.

The “deinterlace.slangp” preset looked the least distracting to me when I tried out the ones available in “misc”. The “vibration” and blur are still quite noticeable though. The bob-deinterlace shader can hide the vibration at the expense of more blur, but I found that one weirdly made certain UI elements look cut off in spots.

Yeah, it really does that. The deinterlacing.slang is the least troublesome of all. Guest’s work takes no guessing, and lets the user choose between five different approaches, so you pick whatever feels best for a given game. Ideally, there would be a deinterlacing shader like that.
