Beetle Saturn - Incorrect Region BIOS

Beetle Saturn will normally auto-select the correct region’s BIOS for it’s boot sequence. (If you’ve seen me around the forums, you know how much I adore features like this <3 )

I’ve noticed though, that a couple of my JP games are pulling up the US BIOS screen when they launch.

Elan Doree & Gunbird are the two I know off the top of my head.

So my question is - is there a particular reason these particular games wouldn’t pull up the correct JP BIOS? OR - maybe it’s possible the games are region patched?

I haven’t region patched any games myself, and I don’t know a whole lot about it so I wasn’t sure if there’s an easy way to check.

I’m hoping if they ARE region patched I can return them to the right region somehow.

Just use a region free bios, it is way easier.

Doesn’t that force every game to boot up with the same boot screen though? What makes this feature special is it gives you each regions proper boot screen.

Well, I have a chipped saturn, so I’ve always played all games with the same boot animation, japanese or us… So it works for me.

Yeah it’s effective for a real Saturn, and I’m sure it’d do the job here as well.

Even with this weird behavior the games still play - it just bugs me that a JP game pulls up the US logo.
