Awesome. I didn’t even know about it. I don’t see it in the core updater yet, so I will try to track it down.
Hello! Sorry if we’re going too off-topic here, but what is this “DICE”, is it for arcade? Where can I learn more about it? (had no luck looking it up in the net)
Edit: Found it. Had to enable experimental cores
Please bear with me… it’s taking a while to copy these settings over.
Love all the different styles of bezels! Amazing work everyone!
I’m a big fan of your work on realistic arcade overlays, the old and new versions. I wish I had the time to work on each one as they deserve.
It’s thanks to the hardwork of overlay creators like yrself… absolutely love your work m8
Some good reflection footage here:
GDrive link updated (75 games).
Feedback welcomed.
Changes:
All games selectable using the $GAME$.slangp.
Parameter changes to all existing games. (hopefully for the better)
25 games added.
koko-ambi added.
A big thanks to Hyllian for making the necessary updates.
Issues i already know about:
Wonderboy - No reflections at the sides because of excessive x overscan used.
MonkeyBall/Paperboy/Rampage/Tapper - Wasn’t quite sure how to correctly reference both koko-ambi and hyllian-sinc. So only hyllian-sinc is used. (Hyllian explained to me but i still wasn’t sure)
Maybe I wasn’t very clear when I explained to you. Here what I did to fix paperboy on your latest pack:
- Open paperboy.slangp
See the picture, I commented the reference you’re using that point to ‘uborder-bezel-reflections’, copied it and edited to point to ‘uborder-koko-ambi’. Now it loads uborder-koko-ambi and crt-hyllian-sinc. You just need to do it for all those games.
Thanks m8 I’ll change those and re-upload
Thank you so much! Yeah for most of us here this a side gig and finding the time is not always easy.
MonkeyBall, Paperboy, Rampage and Tapper now updated to use koko-ambi and the GDrive has been updated
Have a great weekend!
Back-Ups-Arcade (from which most of these overlays are from) included an animated Streetfighter 2 CE overlay that i made based off Fercho’s animated snes overlay.
Here’s a demo of it in action: https://youtu.be/Zwz_BVs4_oU
If anyone wants to try it let me know (downside is that you can’t launch it via the shader and it’s only for 1080p)
Ooooo vector stuff
I’ll look back through yr thread… I remember seeing it a while back
Vector graphics are not easy to emulate in a way that makes it look like authentic vector graphics, but that’s pretty well done. It has the brightness, but may need a little more glow around objects. Well done!
In fact, glow is something is lacking in the shader I chose to represent that asteroids. I need to revisit the shaders i use for vector games and add that feature.
Had a little break now back to it:
Asteroids (asteroid.zip):
This overlay has semi transparent sections which allow for the reflection to show through when cranked up. I’ve also upped the ambi so you still get the effect.
The picture doesn’t really do it justice.
You can see the vector dots better in this one. I think HunterK had said that MAME emulates those better than FB. I think it looks more authentic.
Yeah tbh the vectors look a bit sketchy I agree.
