BS Zelda not working with SNES9X core

Hello all, recently I’ve noticed that BS Zelda is not loading with the latest Snes9x core, neither the plain version or the MSU version will load. I just get a blank screen. I’ve tried redownloading the rom and the core, but it still won’t play. Ancient Stone Tablets loads and plays just fine though. BS Zelda does play on standalone Snes9x too… any suggestions? Could it be the rom or the core?

I got the same results in retroarch or stand-alone:

-BS Zelda (original) does not launch saying there’s no saved content in the memory pack, perhaps it’s now acting more like the real system and refuses to launch outside of a broadcast? (that won’t happen)

-BS Zelda 3rd quest works fine

The game appears to be loading for me just fine as long as Im using the BS-X.bin bios file. Was testing on android if that matters at all.

Tatsuya79, it is working for me in the standalone version, I am using the git version though…

ChronoStriker1, I just tried using the bs-x bios, still not working for me

Since there are a few versions of the bios floating around and I don’t know if it matters I’m using the English+no drm variant.

ChronoStriker1, yup I tried them all and it’s a no go

Well just as a last mention cause I dont have any other ideas, the game Im using is from the no-intro set

Yeah I’m not using that rom, the rom I have is from the BS Zelda site that is run by Conn (if you’re unaware of the site, google bs Zelda). He went through great lengths to recreate the original broadcasts…

It use to run flawless in Retroarch. Ancient Stone Tablets still runs great…

I did go ahead and let Conn know. I just tried the Third and Fourth Quest versions with the latest Snes9x core (it updated in the last 24 hours), and well as the MSU versions. Still just get a black screen

I just finished 3rd quest (by Con) again in the latest snes9x in RA, and it works on stand-alone git as well.

This is effing weird, I literally just saw your message and redownloaded 3rd Quest and redownloaded the Snes9x core (labeled as 1.56.2 d7ebfaa). I still have a black screen

Edit: And to update, this isn’t just happening on my windows setup, it’s also happening on GPD XD and Nvidia Shield TV

Edit 2: just tried downloading the Snes9x 2010 core, everything works there except the MSU version (naturally)

You know what… I was using the snes9x libretro core I compiled myself from upstream.
I tried with the one from the online updater, and with it, black screen.

I see if we can get it updated and see what’s up…

Looks like the issue has been corrected, thanks Tatsuya79

Np, sorry it took some time.
