Anyone know why Bsnes is the odd one out here? I’ve been told Bsnes is supposed to be the most accurate of the snes emulators.

If I remember correctly, bsnes does gamma correction by default, which is indeed accurate behavior compared to an SNES connected to a CRT. It can probably be disabled inside the core options, just look for any entry labelled with “gamma”.
It’s not accurate to anything, it’s just a pleasing effect that Near really liked and borrowed from an ooooold SNES emu called “Super Sleuth”.
