I read the documentation and downloaded all the *.scummvm files then I scanned the directory in RetroArch like the documentation says but when I try to load a game it says it doesn’t exist.
I’ve tried naming it the short name, bbvs.zip, and the long name Beavis and Butt-head in Virtual Stupidity.zip and have scummvm text files for both.
When I try loading the game from RocketLauncher, a black and green window comes up with a few game options, but I can’t select anything or add a game, which I shouldn’t have to anyway according to the documentation, because the mouse moves so fast it’s uncontrollable and there are no core options to change the mouse speed.
I want the game to load automatically and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.
It just so happens that I’m about to start an overhaul of the ScummVM documentation - it’ll take me a little while, though, so you might need some patience…
In the meantime, here are some pointers:
Nope, that’s not what the current documentation says…
The core does not load archives - the game data files need to be extracted, i.e. into a folder called “Beavis and Butt-head in Virtual Stupidity”
The .scummvm file goes inside the game directory - i.e. put “Beavis and Butt-head in Virtual Stupidity.scummvm” inside the “Beavis and Butt-head in Virtual Stupidity” directory
Delete your ScummVM playlist and rescan the folder that contains your game directory (i.e. don’t just scan the directory that contains all the *.scummvm files that you downloaded)
The game should now run from the playlist
(You should actually add the game, but that’ll be explained in the new documentation, so don’t worry about it for now)
If the mouse cursor is uncontrollable it means you are using a very old version of the core. Update to the latest version, and the input problems should be resolved.
