Duimon - HSM Mega Bezel Graphics and Presets - Feedback and Updates

The ps2 retroarch emulator is all kinds of buggy for me. Is is that same for you?

Wouldn’t you know, I did texture the background, then hid the texture to improve performance. I also like the logo idea. I will add it, and do a plain version.

Yeah, it doesn’t run very well for me either, but, it is pretty new. I think it will improve over time. :slightly_smiling_face:

Here’s this.

I like it! Thanks @lilbud!!

I meant make the whole background textured and have neon blue accents like the logo.

Something like this. The background would be textured better (I just did add noise on photoshop).

Maybe have the console extend to each screen edge. And get rid of the blue triangle stands.

Thank you for your input my friend. :slightly_smiling_face:

I understand that everyone’s tastes are a bit different. I spent years wishing I had a simple way to modify Nosh’s and OrionsAngel’s graphics.

Once this is up in the repo, please, feel welcome to use the source files. :innocent:

Hey @Duimon, could you please do a Net yaroze variant for the PSX ? I really like the black version of the console with the green font for the power button and the blue font for the “Open” button.

Oh, I didn’t know there was a black psx variant, I agree this would be a great addition

@Duimon

Personally I like your first PS2 version much better than the thing with the blue logos in the side.

With the second one, the PS2 logos on the side break the illusion of your first version of having a “PS2 TV on a table” if you know what I mean.

Since I don’t have Photoshop myself, could you keep that first version (without the logos on the left and right) in the repo also?

Regardless of the above, thanks for the amazing work you’re doing with these :ok_hand:

Will do! (I wasn’t aware of a black version either.)

There will be a plain, no logo version in the “plain” folder , up in the repo.

Yeah, it was a devkit for the PS One, I think it looks better than the real console.

Since it was a devkit I guess it wasn’t an option on the original. No matter, I still think it’s too cool!

@Tromzy Here’s a quick and dirty mod.

While the relative ease I had modifying this has reaffirmed my love of vector art, the experience has also reaffirmed my intention of going back and redoing some of these earlier graphics. (So many things I would do differently now.)

The Playstation is on the early list of getting redone!

At the gentle urging of @Orionsangel I decided to try and modify the PC-98 graphic one more time. :innocent:

While not as true to the original scale, I agree that the full floppies add quite a bit of visual interest.

I think it still needs a bit of work. (There should be a floppy in at least one drive, and for that I’ll need to find an image source. :upside_down_face:)

How’s this? I needed to see what was behind the floppy lever, I got lucky and found a source image. (Truly, the interwebs are a wonderful place!)

I also made the floppy drive levers more accurate! :innocent:

I think I will update the repo.

I know nothing about this system other than it’s a Japanese computer. Any recommendations on places to look up games worth emulating? I discovered more about the Amiga once I got into emulation so I’m hoping the pc98 is similar.

That’s a good question. I have the feeling this will appeal more to users who can actually read Japanese. (@Telmo )

edit: I checked and if you turn the CPU multiplyer and memory up, the Touhou project 1-5 work really well and are fun to play.

That looks sweet! Well done!

This is looking great!

Also if I didn’t know it was the standard night image I would think the night lighting was custom made

Yeah, the spots line up in just the right place!

Here’s a new one! (And by request I believe.)

As promised, the Sharp x68000!!

I hope you all like it. (Because I know I do.)

I did as I hinted at, made two carrying handles and connected everything from left to right, integrating the monitor.

Seven LEDs!! :astonished:

@HyperspaceMadness (This is another one that the night image looks custom made for!)

If I can find a good source image I will probably do some vintage details on the monitor. :upside_down_face:

While searching, I discovered that the volume control is not a groove, but a knob. (I will have to fix that!)
