Advice and suggestions are just that. I have no intention to change your work, you do what you want. Anyway, I don’t use this kind of images, but you share them constantly in every post, so I comment.
The projectors do not work with the light gun. But it was used a lot in arcade, especially Sega with its giant screens.
El Jumbo is basically they are many TV’s together, I imagine that the resolution must be very high. There were projects at the end of the life of the CRT, which joined several tubes to have more resolution and were very thin, I do not remember the names.
Good catch that!
Why would they use “low - high” on the left and “big - small” on the right, with the same volume Kanji? (Except that “volume” can also translate to “sound quantity”.)
It would. I had to make a call. Opening the panel would also open a lot of other design options, across the board.
For example.
Both the left and right panels on the Sampo 9519 can be removed,
I chose to cover all the panels.
So… “Sound Quality” vs. “Sound Quantity”.
Now that makes sense, thanks!!
On the US T.V.'s it usually read “tone”, but would have been the same thing.
Looks like “tone quality” is a translation variation.
Right is the main volume, the left panel is the equalizer; Tones, high and low sounds. Balance and a special one for voice tone.
Yes, it is literally correct, because what it does is to improve the quality of the sound, if it has a lot of bass, it adds brightness and vice versa. But it is known in a standard way as Tone (high or low).
With all the improvements to the TH20-B8 I decided I should at least attempt to create a more accurate woofer mesh.
old
new
I had to rotate the mesh 20 degrees to eliminate moiré.
What are your opinions?
I kept the old source in case I change my mind.
I was right about the complexity. Illustrator crashed three times while I was creating the mesh.
There are about 2000 spheres that make up the clipping mask in each mesh.
With the possible exception of the PDP-1, this is officially the most detailed work I have ever done.
Lookin’ great. I’m looking forward to seeing some of these old RCA models and so forth that I will recognize.
edit The TH20 reminds me of a ghetto blaster with a TV screen.
It is a lot like that honestly.
If you notice the “Ambience” logo in the top left panel, it and the name were used in Panasonic ghetto blasters for many years.
So am I.
After I create the Presets for the Sampo I have one more old request to fulfill.
The Sony KV-1946R.
Then I think I’ll have some fun and do the Zenith - Spirit of '76.
My first TV was a 13" black and white… I can’t even remember exactly what it looked like. But the next one I can recall and it was a 19" Montgomery Ward color TV. It looked a lot like this one, even though this is a JCP brand. I played a lot of games on this one.
When I was creating the PSP Monitor, Photoshop would go really slow with how many circles there were and it crashed one time on me.
Montgomery Ward and JCP both used rebranded TVs, “Airline” was Ward’s brand. They were both likely Magnavox on the inside.
This is a situation only in Japan, and the community here has a lot of people who are not Japanese, so I won’t make a request because it’s a minor thing…
Japan RF jacks were 2 channel. Because there were 2 channel available. In the Kanto area, such as Tokyo in Japan, there were 2 channel, and 1 channel was vacant in some rural areas.
Therefore, I would be happy if there was a variation that only 2 channel are lit for vintage presets made in Japan. However, I secretly edited the image to turn off 3 and turn on 2. So this isn’t really a request, just an opinion.
A similar problem to this is that your Mega Drive, Sega Mega CD, or Sega Super 32X may also want a variation of the Japan-specific logo (in Japanese).
But this is just an opinion, never a request, it’s up to you.
Great information. I will make the change.
There are already more variants for the Genesis (Mega Drive) than any other console. Since the CD and 32x use the Genesis graphic. (Not to mention the CD/32x.)
This makes me lean towards not doing more.
I would not be entirely against adding more but I could find no image source for a Mega Drive that had a Japanese logo. (I would need good resolution Japanese logos for all three devices.)
I did a Channel 2 variation for the TH20-B8.
In the end I just did an LED layer variation, turned off the LEDs in the main graphic, and changed the opacity of the LED layer to 100% by default. (To save space.)
From the second post in this thread…
@Ranmori Please don’t hesitate to make a request, even for small things. Requests are a very big part of what I do.
Do you have a favorite vintage Japanese TV you would like me to do?
BTW. I still only see English Mega Drive logos in my search.
I believe this is a Japanese retail box.
yes.
It was caused by Google Translate answering “Japanese” for anything.
There are several sources.
There are several Japanese Mega Drive sources.
I think this is the best source for your Mega Drive, or Mega CD 2, and Super 32X presets.
The shape of some fonts in the red letter logo is unknown, but the spelling described in any way can be found from another logo.
Also, the material of Super 32X is this.
Request is Sharp C1. Speaking of FC, this is it. Or I think that the same material can be used, so I think that it can be used as a CRT dedicated to SharpX1. But this is not a Japan vintage (probably), so I’ll leave it to you to judge.(Color is red, or white, or gray)
No… My main target is the SharpX1, but since SharpX1 comes in many variations, I will stop requesting it along with the C1.
I’ve been a fan of SONY/aiwa for a long time, so if I’m looking for vintage, I think I’ll look for the Japan “furniture TV” SONY, but I still can’t decide which one is better.
Thanks for the 2 channel graphics! !
