I’ve manage to create dynamic bezels with Retroarch. It’s available via custom compiled Retroarch available with the front-end https://emulation.ninja/#whats-new (I’m the developer).
So far, I’ve created 3 working proof of concepts including:
- Castlevania II (NES) - dynamic day/night cycle, inventory, experience display
- Rygar (NES) - Inventory, experience, magic
- Phantasy Star 1 (SMS) - Party stats, Auto mapper
