FBA v0.2.97.39 Playlist Generator (based on Retropie DAT)

Hi guys, I’m creating a simple .exe lakka playlist generator based only on the file name of the roms in a folder to use with this dat: https://github.com/libretro/fbalpha/blob/master/dats/FB%20Alpha%20v0.2.97.39%20(ClrMame%20Pro%20XML).dat.zip?raw=true, who will return the complete name of the game to the playlist.

I think this way I can use the most-easy-to-find set in the internet. Can someone send me a working FBA lpl lakka file so I can compare the structure with the one I will be generating?

I will post the .exe when it is functional, is someone else be interested.

this is my scanned playlist for FBA v0.2.97.39 split, arcade only roms https://mega.nz/#!Bo0y3BAC!yuQ6abvT0apxXR6S_XjSgU65-IcPoHS1vZATvZLSkEM

Thanks! Exactly what I need! Merry Xmas!

You know if the CRC is mandatory or I can leave it blank?

Thanks for the help, the program is functional and generating the playlist right, based only in the roms of the designated folder and ignoring the crc. This way, i can use the merged set without any need of modification and have a playlist only with the parent games (my goal)… If someone else is interested i will polish the interface and release the exe. Seeya!

Hey hericstrada! It seems like we’re working on similar projects. I’ve been working on a GUI-based arcade playlist generator that ought to be able to create Lakka playlists for the latest FBA ROMs, but I don’t have that set myself. Is there any chance you’d be interested in testing your set with my script to see if it produces the correct results with your set? https://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7802

Hi markwkidd, sorry, only returned today to the forum. If you still need my test, I’ll do it this weekend with your newer version and post the results. Seeya!

Only if you have time, but yes I’d still be very interested in whether or not the two scripts are producing the same output.

But the default scanning in RA works well now with this romset, isn’t it?

Will this work for PSP games? Lakka does not detect cso filetype at all.

@TimeFlex I’m not acquainted with the CSO format but maybe I can help you make a playlist.

Two questions:

  1. Are the PSP CSO ROMs distributed as a single file – one CSO file per game, in other words?

  2. Do you have a Windows computer you can use to run a playlist generator?

If the answer is yes to both, the “AHK Playlist Buddy” ought to work for you: AHK Playlist Buddy

@markwkidd Im running a imx6 system and all my roms are on that. Can AHK Playlist Buddy make playlists on a remote system, or would I have to move the roms to the Windows machine then move them back?

Yes you would need to have access to the ROMs on the Windows PC for scanning purposes.

Since you’re running Lakka, you may be able to access the ROMs over a wifi network with Samba if you’re comfortable with Windows network shares: http://www.lakka.tv/doc/Accessing-Lakka-filesystem/

Sorry i’m bit confused… Maybe is surely my fault but, where can i find what’s the latest version of FBAlpha romset supported by lakka? I was sure it was 0.2.97.38… Thanks!

Recently the supported FBA version changed up to v0.2.97.39

It seems that zip files can’t be scaned directly. My ROMS is zip file. I want to calculate CRC of a zip file ,who would give me the formula?

CRCs are not required for custom playlists. Is that why you are trying to calculate the CRC?

That’s probably for netplay.
