Genesis Plus GX, the lowpass filter affects the CDDA audio of Sega-CD

Hello!!

Checking the Sonic CD game with the lowpass filter option in Genesis Plus GX, I noticed that the filter affects the Audio CD too (well, the entire audio output in fact). I rememeber that in the original hardware this didn’t happen. Please, confirm that.

Thanks!!

wontfix… :zipper_mouth_face:

Interesting. That surprises me. I suspect he would merge a PR if someone were able to implement it cleanly, but who knows /shrug

So we know for certain that the low-pass didn’t effect CD Audio on real hardware?

Now wait just a second, I think I was wrong.

According to the MegaAmp schematics the CD-Audio indeed goes through the same filter as the YM2612:

If this is indeed the case, this makes listening to audio CDs on the Sega-CD completely useless.
I asked Ace on the Sega-16 board to clarify this.
