Were you able to play this 3DS game in RetroArch with this overlay, or you just recorded the gameplay and placed the gameplay video in the overlay afterwards?

I played it in Retroarch. Why do you ask?

Analogue Pocket Bezels in Black & White

Because I wanted to know if the gameplay video would fit perfectly in the dual screens in the overlay. I remember reading somewhere like a couple of years ago that it wasn’t possible because the Citra core in RetroArch didn’t have the dual screen scaling option the same way the NDS core has the dual screen scaling option.

No it’s possible, but an unorthodox modification must be done to the look of 3DS. That way you can fit the screens onto to 3DS artwork.
