New Design

The Bezel Preset Editor has undergone a complete redesign, introducing new features while streamlining existing functionality.

User Interface and Navigation:

  • Video Player: A small video player will remain available in the bottom-right corner for viewing content.
  • Quick Navigation: A “back to top” button has been implemented to facilitate rapid navigation through the extensive menu system.
  • Layout: Primary action buttons are now located on the left side, while less frequently used options are on the right. Controls for managing bezel settings, general preferences, and help are positioned at the top.
  • Tooltips: Hovering over any button will display descriptive tooltips explaining its function.
  • Color Vision: The color scheme has been standardized for uniformity, with a dedicated button added to switch to the “Color Thief” feature. The input is now configured to accept any of the four color formats (Hex, RGB, HSL, HSB/HSV).

File Management and Editing:

  • Drag-and-Drop Functionality: Users can now drag and drop slangp , params , and pre files directly into the text area.
  • Merge Feature: A new merge option allows users to load a secondary file and integrate its settings with the currently loaded configuration. The merge function overwrites similar existing settings when conflicts arise.
  • Text Area Synchronization: Typing or pasting a setting into the text area will automatically highlight the corresponding option within the menu.

Output Control:

  • Selective Output: Checkboxes allow users to control precisely which settings are exported to the text area when the “Settings to Text” button is pressed.
  • Optimized Output: Settings retaining their default values will automatically be excluded from the generated text output, keeping files clean and concise.

Upcoming Themes:

The existing theme will be renamed “RetroArch/Oasis”. New dedicated themes are planned, including Monochrome, Amber, Notebook, and Code styles.

There are a few more things that need to be completed before everything can be uploaded.

Incredible work. Is this going to be available on your GitHub later? I’m watching your repo so I can get notifications on new releases.

Yeah it is going to be. I just want to make sure to have all the features and at least Mega Bezels settings done first.

Add

– Zoom button for resizing player
– Drag button to change the position of the player
– Setting UI which is meant to look like RetroArch
– Entertainment Loader which handles player functions better
– Famicom and Super Famicom added to Color Vision
– Loading Animation

Change

– Made a complete redesign
– Remove the tab and build system
– Remove image loading
– Cards have been made into a Help modal

Redesign

Quick Update

– Already have an idea of a change
– I thought of doing the drag through title but this looks better

Coming Soon

Quick Update

– Things are getting out of hand for something that isn’t about the bezels
– There are security issues so all the main files will need to be somewhat in the same folder
– Each specific mp4 file and its images can be in separate folders
– All the files can be named what ever you want
– Video Select Modal to allow for it to create links to the appropriate files with user input

User workflow :

  1. Load .pl in the modal.
  2. The modal lists entries, showing their titles, durations, thumbnails (from local files).
  3. Clicking “Play” loads the video via URL.createObjectURL(file) .
  4. Plyr handles previews and controls normally.

Notes: This is the way for those who want local mp4 file playlists. The extension is just a placeholder for now. There is ugliness in some of the css but I just got the functionality finished so it will be fixed. As you can tell with this, I really like to mess around with web design.

Entertainment Loader Update

I’m wrapping up the work on the local MP4 side now so I can focus on the remaining bezel functions. I was out sick for a few days, but I’m back at it and nearly finished. The YouTube and Twitch integrations were essentially complete before I got sidelined, so I’m just making sure all features are polished before including the finalized Entertainment Loader in the next update.

For those wondering about performance: the local MP4 side uses Blobs, which does impact memory, but I’ve optimized it to only hold one at a time to keep it efficient. I will be doing testing with it to make sure there is no accumulation.

Notes: There is going to be an explanation of all that has been added and can be done but it is pretty long. Changed .pl extension to plain json.
