“Castlevania the adventure - rebirth” on Wiiware, i think this is a remake of a failed and crappy gameboy castlevania? Playing on standalone dolphin here on a Snapdragon 865 phone and gamepad. Awesome game, very polished. Looks like something you would play on a Sega Saturn or so.
Nice. Castlevania is one of my favorite series of all time I love everything about it even the Gameboy games. Well maybe with the exception of Lords of Shadow and that cheesy Netflix series, don’t really care for those.
I even have a playlist dedicated strictly to Castlevania music with over 1000 songs so you know it’s real lol.
entombed for atari 2600 is a very fun 2 player game

I’ve recently learned about a Japanese exclusive bullet hell for the original Playstation:
Two-Ten Kaku
The game is not very good, doesn’t feel as good as the best shooters, despite being a DoDonPachi clone. Now when I say its a clone, then I actually mean it! I’m baffled by this Sony published game from late 1995:
Look at the screenshot. The first level layout and enemies, down to their formation is exactly the same! Everyone who ever played DoDonPachi will recognize it. The game itself is not a must play or anything, but I found it interesting.
(Edit: Wait a minute, I just realized that this game isn’t a clone of DoDonPachi, but DoDonPachi is a clone of this! Two-Ten Kaku released 1 to 2 years before! Maybe the term “Clone” is wrong, it plays more like an “Early Alpha” version. Even the boss is the same. I’m curious what the connection between both games is. Because this is really unusual and I recommend anyone playing this game to see what I mean.)
Miami Vice on PSP is a pretty good game too. Action reminds me of Resident Evil 4 very much, even voice acting is similar. Pretty good game for PSP standards and ppsspp pretty much runs on anything
Just came across this the other day. Seems pretty cool:
This one is like Mega Man/Gunstar Heroes combined with Kirby’s copy/stealing abilities in a cybernetic world with exploding neon lights everywhere. Game is insane on hard mode.
Shoot em up vs-like hybrid game similar to Twinkle Star Sprites if you ever played that game.
Like Super Hang On. Nice for some quick arcade racing fun:
Upcoming Metal Slug like game:
Mario + Mega Man like game:
Rhythm based platforming type game? Never really seen this style of gameplay before.
Info where it runs etc?
It’s a Windows game from 2010 I believe, standard .exe file you just load up. You can read a little more about it here:
And here:
I added a few more games.
Shattered Steel is not a “hidden gem”, but it was unjustly forgotten in the sea of Mech of the time.
In gameplay does not bring anything new, at a technical level was a portent, but where it stands out significantly was in its artistic section, its aesthetics, its animations and the atmosphere, this game is very immersive.
I have read comments and yt videos that say the game is broken…
“ahhh! innocent creatures”, what “was” broken was the emulation.
The Tower 1 and 2, is an original Japanese game that was known in the rest of the world as Sim/Yoot Tower. The Japanese versions have a huge amount of extra content that you could download from the web, get for free at a fair or magazine or buy. This type of game is very addictive, if you get careless, you lose your college, your girlfriend and even your mother.
The Madness of Roland, “The wonder of Hyperbole Studios” is an interactive novel style adventure game, the first one in fact. It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t seem like a big deal, but you’ll never forget.
Interesting games and love the descriptions you guys give it. By reading them I just remembered a manager game for the PC DOS, which no collection seems to know of or is nowhere listed. After searching for the game “Rom” for a while, I was questioning my existence! Partly because I thought it was an Amiga game…
However, problem is, the game is in German language only and I don’t think there is a translation. If you attempt playing the game, I think there was problem in the menu with disappearing elements. I’m not sure what the solution was, probably setting video output from SVGA to VGA.
Edit: Little correction after reading my own link: https://www.mobygames.com/game/5320/software-manager/releases/ The game seems to be release in US indeed, therefore there should be an English version available. And game got an Amiga release.
Something like that, you have to use VGA.
And the English version is totally hidden, you can always use the smart translator.
Came across some unknown titles. This one is called Gear Fighter Dendoh for PS1 and plays just like The Ninja Warriors on SNES with Street Fighter II like moves:
This one is a cool looking RPG for PS1 called London Seirei Tanteidan:
Very text heavy so I’ve been translating it as I go along:
Translations can be hit or miss but I’ve been able to follow along for the most part. Hoping this one gets a fan translation patch one day.
Yes, this game looks very nice. It’s currently been worked on with good progress, so hopefully we’ll see a patch in the next years.
