How to make PSX HW work?

Whenever i set the rendered to “opengl” and exit the core to save the setting, when i open it again i get a black screen. Software mode works. Regular mednafen PSX works.

Isn’t this core supposed to work with opengl? Am i doing something wrong?

Edit: It was the cg shaders.

I got it working but while the graphics are higher resolution, etc, the polygons are still “wobbling”. Wasn’t there a core that made the polygons stable? I thought it was PSX_HW.

The higher precision is planned/in the preliminary stages, but it’s a separate thing that can be added on top of OpenGL rendering.

Ok thanks for the reply

The preliminary stuff just got merged in, btw. You can try it out now via the core options.

Sorry this caught my attention! Tried to google it but could not really understand why there is this new HW stuff :frowning:

Is this only to make the original PS1 graphics look flashy and better or even more closer to the original than it already is? I ask this cause I really prefer to play as you played in the original hardware more than have better graphics.

But if it’s not a hacky approach as it always have been it seems huge!!! For now I will just shut my fingers and wait for a pro answer before I say more stupid things

Yeah, it’s a graphical enhancement.

This page explains it well enough: http://www.retrocollect.com/News/perspective-correction-comes-to-sony-playstation-emulation-via-pcsxr-pgxp.html

Thanks!

Since it’s not a accuracy approach I’m not that excited but still can’t wait to see how things turns out
