iPad state of PSX game in PCSX v1.9 - Doesn´t work on windows

Hi everyone. I’m searching for assistance.

I was using retroarch on my iPad, now I want to continue to play my game (Breath of Fire III) on Windows 7 - 64bits. Unfortunately, I don’t have the saved game (Memory card file), only I have the state.

But in the latest emulators of PSX doesn’t work.

Someone could help me with a workaround to convert this state? Or maybe using an emulator to load my state on Windows to create a memory card file.

I appreciate your help!

You won’t be able to transfer the state. The PSX cores used on iOS and are not the same. The memory card saves should transfer but possibly not directly. That is, it may require some manual poking around, possibly with a hex editor. I’ve never tried it, myself, to know whether it works or not.

This are bad news!.. ooook; then I should re-start my game again… maybe in a long future

Thanks for the confirmation!

When you say PCSX 1.9 do you mean the standalone non libretro/retroarch version for windows? If so then yeah your savestate absolutely will not work. You were probably using the ‘PCSX reARMed’ core on iOS which I don’t see as an available core on windows for retroarch. I sync my save and state folders between a Linux pc and an Android tablet that both run the ‘PCSX reARMed’ core without issue (states saved on one machine will load on the other) so you might be able to run retroarch in a Linux or android device to create a memory card file.

Libretro/retroarch use the .srm file for memory card and save information but I’ve been able to use .mcr files by simply renaming it to .srm. Once you have a .srm for the memory card you might be able to simply rename it to .mcr so that the non libretro PCSX 1.9 can read it. If you upload the save state somewhere and post a link I or someone might be able to make a .srm for you. No promises though.
