Is there a way to use a midi device with the Dosbox core?

Hello. I have set up a small chain using LoopMidi which is in turn connected to [Falcosoft Midiplayer](http://Falcosoft Midiplayer), which can then load soundfonts, my MT-32 roms, or the official version of the Roland Sound Canvas.

In the stand-alone version of Dosbox, I just have to type MIXER /listmidi to get the list of the MIDI devices, and then I can type midiconfig 2 to use Loopmidi (or just set it up in Dosbox.conf)

In the Retroarch core, it doesn’t seem to work. I have tried both typing midiconfig 2 and adding it in the default dosbox configuration, but it doesn’t seem to do anything, Loopmidi isn’t registering any traffic and games don’t have music.

Is there a way to solve this problem ? Am I doing anything wrong ? I would love to have both the features of Retroarch and the great music of my Roland SC-55

I am using the latest stable version of Retroarch on Windows x64.

We don’t have midi support right now, but there’s a bounty for it. I think someone has expressed some interest in working on it but nothing has been committed.

Ah, thank you, I did not know that !

That’s my bounty here: https://www.bountysource.com/issues/44558481-bounty-to-add-midi-support-to-libretro-retroarch

Apparently someone started working on it, but they haven’t contacted me or posted anything, so, yeah. Hopefully something nice happens.

HDG, you have the same setup as me. Really cool. X68000 is another system that has a ton of games with MIDI support. Makaimura and Twin Bee for instance have great GS soundtracks. I would love to hear them in-game in RetroArch.
