Last month's ParaLLel core is way too slow

Downloaded ParaLLel today and i can see it’s updated because i noticed a few extra core options that didn’t exist in the version i had from October. But most games i could play at full speed before (like Top Gear Rally) now crawl at like 50% of speed, using the same options as before.

Is this a known issue?

The Angrylion plugin was updated. Is that what you’re using?

Yes and it’s slower now. I tested 3 games that i could play fine before but now they are all too slow.

I have an i5 4670 CPU and using Windows 7 64bit.

I need help!!! I changed the resolution on my N64 game and now I can’t open ANY N64 games… What can I do to fix this?? Please Help!

Find “retroarch-core-options.cfg” inside the retroarch folder, open that on notepad and delete the line (or lines) that refer to the n64 emulator config. perhaps “parallel-n64-screensize” or some like that.

Or if you have separate options per core, look for “parallel N64.opt” in the Parallel config folder and delete it.

I am using a macOS macbook … is it the same file names??

I am looking through the folders and I don’t see anything for n64

I could not find any of the files you two mentioned … ):

EDIT

Weedy_Weed_Smoker helped me out in another forum thread. Thanks all! I used part of this and part of his help to get it fixed <3 Thanks!

I’m curious as to what your rig is if you were able to run it well before the recent update. I’ve just tried ParaLLel for the first time yesterday with conservative latency and core settings and was surprised to find it unplayable on any game I tried with Angrylion and Glide64. I have an i7-5820k @ 4.5 GHz and a GTX 970. I thought it was still adequate…

It depends on the game. Mario 64 runs full speed but something like Killer Instinct crawls at half speed. About half of N64 games used to run full speed before the update.

Also forget about “conservative” latency options. To run angrylion close to full speed it means zero latency improvement settings and video threading ON.

I have an i5 4670 3.4 GHz.

Well, that explains it. Looks like it’s Mupen64Plus for me for a while yet… Thanks.
