Libretro fMSX version 3.5.1

Yet another useless port ,

this time , it’s fMSX version 3.5.1 Emulator (The Portable MSX Emulator by Marat Fayzullin) http://fms.komkon.org/fMSX/

For now nothing exciting . it’s very WIP (and surely buggy so only for dev) At this time , works the basis (but incomplete) and maybe buggy , on linux x86 / android. It’s a quick/minimal hack.

You can found it here : https://github.com/r-type/libretro-fmsx

Remember ,Everything not working well, It’s a debug release , so expect to more bug.

Usage:

Launch retroarch , select a startup rom/dsk , and fMSX should boot.
(before you have to copy the needed roms see readme.txt)

Control:

- Joy/Overlay

L2 STATUS ON/OFF
R2 SND ON/OFF
L VKBD ON/OFF
R RESET
SEL VSYNC ON/OFF
STR ???
A FIREA/VKBD KEY
B FIREB
X ???
Y fMSX MENU

- In vkbd page 2

"EXT" EXIT EMU
"SNA" SAVE SATE
"JOY" SWITCH JOY 0/1
"Col" SWTICH FGCOL ON/OFF

- In fMSX Menu

A OK
B CANCEL

Knows Bugs:

- When vsync ON sound is slow :(
- Everything not working well, It's a debug release , so expect to more bug.

I actually remember playing Konami’s Penguin Adventure on a MSX back in the late '80s. Very good times. For some reason MSX really took off in Holland (while it didn’t anywhere else other than Japan).

I’ll take a look at it along with the other repos you recently transferred to me.

Yes in France it was not very popular but at that time I really wanted one !

Otherwise , I put a little commit for experimental PS3 build .

Don’t use L3+R3 to select a ROM , use the in-game fMSX GUI else PS3 will freeze :frowning: Sound is bad (you can mute with R2). Experimental so be warned

Looks really interesting. Would love to see MSX and other old computers have Libretro emulator ports.

I’m not familiar with fMSX. Does it have a high degree of compatibility?
