You could load a specific file inside an archive already. This update means that it’s now possible to load a file that is inside a directory in the archive.

load rom inside SMB.7Z in \rom\smb.rom ?
Yes. The syntax for that would be "SMB.7z#rom/smb.rom". (Meaning that’s how it would look like in a playlist or if launching from the command line.)
